Press release
2025 marks the twentieth anniversary of the passing of the renowned Swiss curator Harald Szeemann. His name alone conjures imaginations: that of a man who pushed the boundaries of exhibitions, transforming each project into a realm of freedom, each installation into a manifesto. With “SORRY, NOTHING IS AVAILABLE!”, Anne Deguelle addresses him as if resuming an interrupted conversation.
A new work: a nod to Szeemann
In 1999, at the Venice Biennale directed by Harald Szeemann and titled dAPERTutto, Anne Deguelle slipped a camera into a dog bag and filmed the exhibition from a dog’s-eye view. The result, a video entitled “APERTO par TOUT à hauteur d’un chien” (literally “APERTutto from a Dog’s Perspective”), captures the Biennale from a unique angle: overlooked details, fleeting gestures, chaotic frames. This work, never shown until now, finally reveals a mischievous and poetic perspective on the event.
