A former professional rugby player in France and Italy, Aristide Barraud ended his career at twenty-six years after being wounded in the terrorist attacks in Paris, November 13, 2015.
He recounts his chaotic and luminous reconstruction in his first book «Mais ne sombre pas» (editions du Seuil in 2017). Already animated by poetry, video and photography since his earliest age, he is chosen by JR to be part of the first promotion of the school Kourtrajmé «Art & Image» in Montfermeil, France..
Aristide places his photographic work, writing and painting between what disappears and what remains. He works with silver print photographs, which he manipulates and gives away, cutting out the negatives to create new images on which he places his writings.
